The Playground's Junior Actor Summer Stock

(Grades 2nd thru 7th)

Session one - July 19th - 31th - Wiley and the Hairy Man

Session Two - August 3rd - 14th - The Hobbit

Fee - $150 per child

This program is a great way for your child to be introduced to the basics of theatre while exposing them to the award winning Theatre Company and their creative process.

Each two week session will cover theatre terms such as blocking, stage awareness, character development along with theatre games to sharpen the actor's improv skills and self confidence. The showcase will be free to the public with limited seats. But don't let that fool you. The Playground is known for their high quality 100% youth based productions!

Each actor and crew member will have the chance to work with the Playground's award winning Artistic Director-Shelly Hudson. Shelly has work for over 15 yrs with young people through the arts. She provides skills and talent, which nurturing the young actors abilities and helps them discover their own talents. Our intimate performance space is one of a kind in this region. We are the best little theatre in Sullivan County!!

(Age range 13 - 18)

This 7 week film making boot camp is all the work without the glamour. The Movie Crew is involved with the entire process of producing a 30-40 minute short film. From acting to editing, special effects and stunt work, this is a hand on, fun filled way to learn the art of film making! This year’s movie will be a Zombie Flick!
